Fabio Montale is a superintendent in the crime squad in his hometown, Marseille. He knows the city like the back of his hand with its flaws, its flavours and the hot sun. Fabio Montale has a plan. He wants to give up his job, change his life and find happiness once again like when he was a teenager and used to tear around the streets of his neighbourhood with his friends Ugo and Manu. But Ugo and Manu are dead and Fabio's past is about to catch up with him. People he knew, some friends, some bitter enemies, start disappearing. Fabio Montale has to confront gangs, corrupt policemen, shady politicians and above all, the mafia, that infernal organisation that continuously manipulates and destroys in the name of power and money. Once the biggest and worst torments are over, his survival instinct takes over again. Fabio Montale discreetly hides the evidence of past suffering in his courtyard.
