Before inheriting a manor house from a distant cousin, Mr Tanner's life was peaceful. But since he decided to renovate it, everything has gone from bad to worse. Roofers, electricians, plumbers, all of his tradesmen seem to be plotting against him. This is the story of a renovation project which goes wrong, where a rich beloved healthy man becomes lonely, poor and sick!
