Marie, a defiant young woman full of energy, lives through the period between the late seventies and the new millenium. With her steely determination she confronts unimaginable obstacles head on as she lives through the most difficult and sometimes the most moving of experiences. A prominent figure on the Parisian scene in the eighties, she tries to find her feet as a gutsy singer, a housewife, a high-rolling DJ, radio presenter and improvised artistic mentor. Marie lives her life to the full, notching up jobs, drugs and men. As a maneater, her relationships take her from one extreme to another. Her first love is Maurizio, an Italian refugee. She then has a wild fling with Etienne and comes face to face with Aids, but also with life when she gives birth to her daughter Esther. From an affair with Marcel to a passionate encounter with Pierre, she keeps moving on, not afraid of making mistakes, searching for another way of life: a family life.
