Ginette Kolinka, an old lady who has just blown out her 94th candle, tells us her story. From her pre-war youth to her escape from the Paris roundups in 1941. It was in Avignon that she and her family were arrested by the Gestapo and deported to the Birkenau camp, then to Bergen Belsen, where she lived through hell. She would never tell this story, not even to her own son Richard, the drummer of the group Téléphone. For 50 years, she would say nothing. Then, in the 1990s, the Spielberg Foundation stepped in to interview more deportees with the release of the film "Schindler's List". It began giving testimonies in schools and accompanying groups of students to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Today, she spends most of her time there. She is one of the last survivors of the death camps still alive today, and gathering her words helps to keep her story alive. An essential act in an increasingly intolerant and xenophobic world.
