Phoney War... This expression refers to the long period of eight months that began with the declaration of war on Germany by France and England. The absence of a major offensive that distinguishes this period does not mean that nothing happened.

How was this conflict justified on both sides? How did people live this particular period of time? What profound changes has it been accompanied by? Based on the latest works of historians and new sources now available, this film aims to break with this anachronistic and caricatured approach, which is more a question of memory reconstruction than historical reality.
