When is a gift not a gift? Is it when it causes your life, no matter how good a person you thought you were, to go horribly wrong and things to become as out of control as they can possibly get ?
An Bronntanas (The Gift) is a contemporary thriller set against the backdrop of the Conamara Coastline and the dramatic lives of a local lifeboat crew. One stormy night, the crew are summoned on a rescue mission on choppy seas. When they come across the endangered boat, they find a single crewmember handcuffed to the steering wheel, viciously murdered, and a cargo of over €1 million worth of drugs onboard. They have a dilemma bring home the dead crewmember or keep the drugs. They decide to keep the drugs for their own financial gain. Their lives spiral into a world of paranoia, violence and tragedy. The series follows the dramatic lives of the men who find this "gift". It is a relevant tale told with black humor, making a wry, incisive comment on the human condition, but it's also a cautionary tale about the evil that good men can do.
