"Where does he dream up all that?" is the question audiences always ask themselves as they leave one of Nicolas Dumont's shows. Nicolas is a stand-up comedian, not a comic you understand, a humorist. He is married to Isabelle, a psychiatrist, or maybe it would be more exact to say that she has custody of him. His best friend Robert presents an armchair shopping show, "Bob's best buys". It's what he was born to do. Robert is single, invasive, naive and always putting his foot in it but they couldn't do without him. Nicolas woud love Carole, his wife's best friend, if she lived a couple of thousand miles away, but instead she seems to spend her whole life in their house asking advice on vital existential problems, such as which nail varnish to wear to get a guy... Nicolas keeps a notebook detailing every moment of every day. Once on stage, all he has to do almost is read from it. There is no need to exaggerate anything because he's perfected the art of getting into ridiculous and zony situations. And whenever journalists ask him, as they always do :"Is life just on big joke to you?" Nicolas replies without hesitation: YES!
