Since the 1970s, Japan has established itself as the world leader in new technology and since the end of 2016, a leader in Virtual Reality. In the country which brought us major brands like Nintendo and Sega, this development is of course being driven by video games. To get an idea of what the future in VR will look like and in what way all our lives will change, we first have to understand how this entertainment culture grew up here, and the prominent place taken by the video game industry today. Because, with this new technology, the entire entertainment industry will change and launch not just Tokyo but the whole world into a future in VR.
